Visitor Insurance Policies - Wise Investment

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

You are visiting the United States, which is an expensive visit. But a medical emergency during the stay can upset the entire planning and hike up the expenses for the stay. One way of ensuring that this does not happen is to buy a visitors insurance plan.

You can buy a visitor medical insurance plan, which offers medical insurance for a limited period wherever you are visiting from. The typical period for which the insurance is valid is 12 months. However, if your stay is extended, then you can extend the insurance for up to 36 months.

You can eligible for the visitor health insurance plan if you are an employee on deputation, coming to U.S. for training, going to a university to study, seeking new business opportunities, or just a tourist. If you are planning to migrate to the United States, the visitors insurance can be useful until you make more permanent arrangements.

US visitors insurance can be bought online even before traveling to the U.S. However, it is advisable to purchase the insurance only after receiving the visa and buying the ticket. Insurance coverage begins on the date indicated on the US Visitor Insurance card, and cannot be earlier than the date of arrival in the U.S.

If the family members of the visitor are also accompanying the visitor, the insurance plan can include them, or can be added on when they join the traveler. A variety of plan periods are available and all these can be renewed.

Your US Visitor Insurance plan covers medical treatment for the following categories: injuries during the stay, sickness, medical evacuation and repatriation of remains. If you have a pre-existing condition, then that is not covered. Other conditions not covered are medical treatment for testing medicines and childbirth.

There are two types of visitor health insurance plans: scheduled benefit plans and comprehensive benefit plans. Scheduled benefit plans place a limit for each type of treatment covered, and are typically cheaper than comprehensive benefit plans. For example, you can purchase a plan with a $50,000 maximum limit, which may include a maximum limit of $2,000 for surgery and $500 for diagnostic services. Some of the plans of this type are Inbound USA and Visitors Care Insurance.

Comprehensive benefits plans do not place any limits other than the published customary charges. The maximum policy limit can be used to cover expenses once the deductible and the co-insurance is paid. Diplomat America, Atlas America and Liaison International are some examples of this type of plans.

Going To A Festival? Experience The Luxury Of A Caravan

Friday, July 30th, 2010

It was five years ago, on my yearly trip to Leeds Festival that I became a caravan lover. That year I didn’t have an early pass and was eager to find a place to camp before there was no space left when the strap on my main rucksack broke. I balanced it on my tent bag and trudged on through the, now fluid, mud. Subsequently this additional weight then broke the strap on my tent bag, leaving me stranded.

Luckily some friends of mine were nearby in the caravan section and helped me carry my things to their caravan. What luxury! It was only an inexpensive caravan but compared to my one-man tent in which I couldn’t lie down straight, even without my bag, it was brilliant. How jealous I was of their luxury caravan when I opened my bag to find half of my things broken and damaged by the fall in the mud.

The next year I was naturally in one of those dry, warm caravans and happily watched the other festivalgoers struggle with their bags. Apparently my luck hadn’t improved and the caravan flooded. Again my new Top Shop inspired festival wardrobe was destroyed along with most of other caravan.

Thankfully I’d thought to make sure contents were included on my caravan insurance. We didn’t have to worry about the harm to the caravan and I would even say we enjoyed living in the damp for three days. When all said and done, it is all part of the festival experience.

Now we have annual caravan holidays abroad, which are ideal for a low cost holiday with friends. I wouldn’t stop my caravan holidays for anything and definitely wouldn’t risk an uninsured driver hitting us and spoiling our tradition. Since the flood incident I always make sure we have the right insurance cover for whatever country we happen to go to, it’s so critical to have the right cover for European travel.

If you’ve an RV then you have good taste, and really recognize how to have fun. Enjoy your motor caravan and go on holiday. But don’t forget that holidays are meant to be strain free; with our less than reliable weather this isn’t forever the situation. Get the right cover for your vacation and have a good time!

You will need to ensure that when you go to your festival or off on your holiday that you have the correct caravan insurance to cover every possible scenario. Coversure are a trusted insurance broker with strong relationships with insurance providers. They will be able to get you the best deal on your caravan insurance.

Caravan Surfing

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

There is nothing better than a glass of Scrumpy cider after a long day of surfing in Cornwall or Devon but there is nothing as bad as trying to get warm and dry in an already damp tent. This is one of the reasons why I no longer camp on my annual pilgrimage to the beach. This summer many hundreds of surfing amateurs and pros alike will be headed for British and European seas, and more of them than ever are going by caravan.

Caravans are by far the best choice for a surfing holiday; there is numerous space for wet suits, towels and surfboards. I don’t have mine board but it’s much less costly to lease one for the week in place of a day. It is not just at a lower cost but you have the chance to really get the experience of the board. Hiring a board for the seven days is pretty challenging without a caravan; even a short board would be difficult to squeeze in a tent. This is one of the reasons why I feel like a pro every year, despite sitting on my board in the green waves and looking for seals for the majority of the day.

The problem with caravans is the insurance. Many people forget to ascertain if their insurance can give them the cover they require. If travelling to Europe then you have to make certain you have the right European caravan insurance or else you might be left less mellow than the standard surfer when something goes wrong! Don’t let some uninsured driver make you miss the surf this year, get caravan insurance!

Surfing all day means leaving the caravan unattended. Any true surfing lover will realize that the early surf is the better. When all said and done who would like to share the waves with the foam board tourists? That’s why you ought to ensure that your caravan insurance safeguards your contents. Particularly if you have any second boards left in it! A great specialist caravan insurance broker will be in a position to talk you through exactly what your policy includes.

Surfers are meant to be worry free so let someone different do the worrying! Don’t leave anything to chance this summer and get the correct insurance for your caravan. Don’t forget that mileage, overseas travel and what you require to safeguard can all affect your cover so chat to a broker that can find the proper policy for you. Enjoy the surf!

It’s sometimes hard to get caravan insurance to cover exactly what you need it to. If you want to ensure that you don’t get swindled by your insurers it’s best to get hold of an insurance broker that has existing relationships with insurance providers and who know their field inside out. Travel Health Insurance Policies Best Plan That Works For You

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Travel insurance is not a single-size-fits-all kind of insurance. There are several types of travel insurance. Some of them are travel medical insurance, trip cancellation insurance, flight insurance, and evacuation insurance.

You may research the travel insurance that your friend purchased when he visited Spain, but remember that his situation might have been vastly different from yours. Although the most oft-purchased insurance plans are trip cancellation and travel medical insurance, consider your specific needs and purchase the plan that works for you.

Trip cancellation insurance is cover for the occurrence of the trip-which means that you are insuring against the possibility of the trip being cancelled. In many cases, this includes coverage for the trip being cut short. Usually, trip cancellation insurance covers cancellations or interruptions in case they occur due to specific reasons.

Your trip cancellation insurance only reimburses you for covered reasons. You will likely be covered in case of the demise or serious illness of your traveling companion or an immediate family member, if your primary residence is destroyed, or if Uncle Sam calls upon you for jury duty or military duty. Some plans will also cover the trip if you lose your job or weather conditions force you to cancel your trip.

It is best to purchase travel health insurance as soon as the travel tickets are purchased, to maximize coverage. Also, last-minute trips are less prone to cancellations and itinerary changes. Trip cancellation insurance is imperative for expensive trips with large non-refundable costs.

Travel medical insurance is the other main type of travel insurance, protecting the plan holder from the costs of medical care when traveling. The common benefits offered by travel medical insurance plans are emergency services, inpatient and outpatient care, surgery, consultation, medical tests, and limited prescription medication.

Your travel insurance plan is likely to cover emergency medical evacuation or, in some cases, emergency political evacuation. Your plan benefits will also include some AD&D and repatriation of mortal remains.

Cancellation and medical care are not the only problems that you might face when traveling and so, your travel insurance plan will include other benefits-for example, in case your baggage is lost or delayed in arrival, or if your identity is stolen. Your plan might also include some travel advisory services. To know exactly what is covered, look at the policy document itself.

International Travel Insurance Policies -Saves You From Great Financial Burden

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Is your career goal to spend a comfortable retirement living abroad? If so, you are not alone. But in order to make sure that the money you invest in your dream retirement does not wind up being spent on expensive medical care, it is important that you protect yourself with overseas health insurance.

As a retiree, you will no longer have access to the healthcare plan provided to you by your former employer. And if you are living abroad, any government-sponsored plan offered in your native country will not apply outside its borders. So you must protect yourself with international travel insurance.

Otherwise, you will need to pay the full cost of any medical care you receive. Those costs could vary anywhere from hundreds of dollars per doctor’s visit to thousands of dollars for extended hospital stays. Only international health Insurance can help you minimize those fees.

With a long list of prescriptions to take each day and a heightened chance of injury and illness, it is particularly important that retired people have the protection of international travel health insurance. Their medical bills accumulate much faster, and if you are paying the full uninsured prices for care then your entire savings could quickly be drained.

As a retiree in a new country, you may also be concerned about finding a doctor who has the skills you need, and who you are comfortable with. This is another area in which you will find international health Insurance to be helpful. Access to a network of skilled local doctors will be yours with your policy.

While living overseas, you may also want to vacation in other countries. Your international travel health insurance policy will protect you there as well, allowing you to travel with the knowledge that you have affordable care around the globe.

Purchasing overseas health insurance is easy. You can research different providers’ policies online to find the best fit for your needs in terms of price, coverage level, and benefits. Then after selecting the right plan for you, you can make your purchase online as well, printing out necessary information from your own printer.

If you are considering living abroad, you will appreciate the value offered by international travel health insurance. It provides a relatively inexpensive way to provide yourself and your spouse with guaranteed access to high quality care, and it can be researched and purchased easily online.

Visitors Health Insurance Policy Makes Your Vacation Pleasant

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Summer is here, and the United States is a great place to visit during summer! It is also the favorite season for many U.S. immigrants to invite their foreign parents over for a visit. Prudent travelers include visitor medical insurance in their trip planning.

Visitors from India and other foreign countries may be so used to receiving inexpensive health care at home that they don’t think about US visitor health insurance. However, the U.S. health care system is extremely different from the Indian one, and is also very expensive.

If the U.S. trip is being sponsored by a U.S. resident, he/she should be able to guide the visitor about visitors insurance. Health insurance coverage is very new in India, and hence may be taken very lightly by visitors to the U.S. Domestic health insurance, if any, will not be valid abroad in the U.S.

Regardless of the duration of the U.S. trip, medical insurance for visitors from India is a good idea. Just one visit to the hospital can prove financially disastrous, and that illness can happen in a short one-week trip, or a three-month trip.

You probably have a lot of travel planned during your trip to the U.S., and this can mean a lot of driving and eating out , ingredients for common illnesses and accidents. Your visitors health insurance plan will take your mind off worry about the expenses involved, should you require healthcare.

Typical health insurance for visitors from India benefits are designed to defray sudden medical expenses. This includes consultation and hospitalization, emergency services, surgical procedures, certain prescription drugs, and diagnostic tests. Some plans also cover evacuation in case of political or medical exigencies.

Health insurance for visitors to USA can be so tailored so that it covers the actual travel itself, covering costs related to cancelled or disrupted travel due to select causes. Benefits related to accidental death and dismemberment and sending home of mortal remains are also usually included.

Purchasing visitors insurance is not a complex affair, it can be done quickly. A confirmed itinerary will be useful as well. Also, it’s best to buy the plan within a couple of weeks of confirming the itinerary, particularly for seniors.

Flight Insurance Policy Helps Travelers Feel Safe

Monday, July 5th, 2010

The international airline industry is struggling with unfortunate news of air accidents nearly every month. This has made air travel seem more dangerous, and more people are scared about flying than before. Flight insurance can help restore some confidence in the minds of air travelers.

Flight insurance is coverage that offers benefits if you are a passenger on a commercial or chartered flight, and you lose your life, limbs, or sight as a result of an accident on the plane. Travel on private planes is usually excluded from coverage. Coverage ends when you deplane after the trip.

Sometimes, flight insurance includes travel cancellation and medical coverage as well. Other plans may offer pure airline flight insurance, only including benefits in case of commercial or chartered plane accidents.

You can purchase air flight insurance to cover all air travel during a particular trip. There are many ways you can use to buy air flight insurance. The internet is probably the best option for you, since you can easily look at the details of different plans at one go. You can also purchase the plan at select airports. You might only find one plan with limited features at airport kiosks, though.

There are some things to consider when purchasing a airline flight insurance plan. Remember that some plans may not cover travel to high-risk and accident-prone areas. However, air flight insurance plans that one company does not offer might be available through other companies. Call customer service to find an appropriate air flight insurance plan.

Most airlines offer compensation to their travelers in case of an accident, and purchasing additional coverage is up to the traveler. Before making a decision, however, it is best to check the airline coverage and ensure that it meets the traveler’s requirements.

You will find affordable flight insurance plans from A.M. Best-rated insurance companies - TravelGuard and AccessAmerica plans, for instance. You might have to pay no more than $10 for every $100,000 of coverage, and plans are usually designed to cover a minimum of $100,000, and multiples thereof.

You would want to read the insurance plan carefully, before you sign on the dotted line. Even if the likelihood of an airline accident is still very low, the safety that air flight insurance offers in terms of knowing that your life and limbs are covered is invaluable.

Get Backpacker Travel Insurance

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

As a backpacker, holiday insurance should be at the top of your list when organising your overseas adventure. Backpacker travel insurance is usually excellent value and will afford you the most needed cover at more general and affordable levels than other coverage so that you can budget your way around the world without having to worry about the costs that illness or accident might incur without paying an arm and a leg for your policy.

Young travelers tend to travel on a shoe string and backpacker travel insurance fits nicely into this scheme of things due to its great value for money. Shoestring travelers also tend to find accommodation on a shoe string which often means that the accommodation is either not in the best condition or could be situated in a less desirable location than other more expensive accommodation. That is what budget travelling is all about but that doesn’t mean that the traveller should fear for their belongings because backpacker travel insurance will cover loss and theft of personal items while you’re on your adventure regardless of the area you stay in or the number of stars that your hotel boasts.

The correct suitable policy generally includes cancellation of flights insurance, medical cover, illness and accident cover, damage or loss of personal items cover and often cover for those partaking in extreme sports too.

Shoestring journeys can also be more unpredictable as the more carefree and often younger backpacker tends to be less fussy about the transport that gets them from A to B. Hitch-hiking (whilst not recommended in many areas) is very popular and certain precautions should always be taken but this doesn’t guard against the unpredictability of it.

Cheaper air travel and land travel are a priority to the budget traveler and sometimes this means a lengthier journey and more stations leaving the backpacker, once again, open to more unforeseen circumstances. Finding the right insurance means finding the affordable and smart way to protect you against such unexpected problems.

This is the authentic way to travel and a memorable way to meet locals and get an insider’s view into a city. You’ll be exposed to more realistic situations in foreign cities which will enrich your travel experience and makes living on a tight budget well worth it, however, one should never leave home without backpacker travel insurance.

Caravan Lovers Need Not Concern Themselves With Volcanoes

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

This Easter saw caravan holidays rise to the status of “most convenient” after the eruption of the Icelandic volcano saw most aeroplanes around the world either completely grounded or at least disrupted.

It was an extremely satisfying feeling, pulling my caravan home under clear, aeroplane-free skies and not worrying in the slightest about whether my insurance covered me against volcanic eruptions happening in far off countries. As a caravan lover, I felt vindicated. The next time someone says that towing caravans is slow and holds up the roads, remind them of the time back in Easter 2010 when a caravan could get from anywhere in Europe, to nearly anywhere else in Europe faster than the average plane.

Also, the “cramped and claustrophobic” conditions that so many people associate caravans with seemed like the most luxurious and spacious of interiors compared to a hotel lobby or a space on an airport floor.

Of course, between those of us who understand the beauty behind caravan holidays this is all irrelevant. We each like doing our own things in our own leisure time, and how boring would the world be if we all liked the same things? However, the reason for this little gloat is that people who, as a rule, don’t do caravans, tend to make fun of those that do, and we rarely, if ever reciprocate.

So… given that we didn’t have quite the same concerns this Easter that many other holiday makers had, what were we thinking about? I’d like to hear some good stories. I wasn’t thinking about whether my insurance covered me for all those untold additional costs that the plane brigade were worried about, but I did have some additional costs to think about. And they were costs that I couldn’t insure against too.

I took the latest edition of Caravan Magazine with me on my travels because we are thinking of buying a new caravan soon and we had planned to read all about the cost of our next purchase, but ended up reading their insurance survey. It seems after reading this survey that because I couldn’t be bothered to buy my insurance through a broker, I overpaid for it by quite a lot. If you are looking to get cheap caravan insurance it would be well worth shopping around because there were loads of comparisons in Caravan Magazine and I was quite surprised by some of the results.

If you are looking for caravan insurance, but want to make sure you get the best deal possible, you should arrange it through Coversure. They are an insurance broker with long-standing relationships with providers and can always secure a fantastic deal on static caravan insurance or touring caravan insurance.
